My red hoodie

This is a red hoodie.

It is not an exact replica of the one that I recently purchased on an all day shopping binge with my dear friend and blog-mate Josh E. Pants.

In fact, the hoodie above kind of reminds me of the army of walking armor from everybody's favorite Angela Lansbury action/adventure movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks. (see armor in right of photo below):

In Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Angela Lansbury topped her Tony Award winning role in Sweeney Todd and her legendary turn in The Manchurian Candidate. The brilliant Lansbury made a bed fly, danced with animated fish, and led an army of ghost armor via broomstick. She did this all with grace and dignity...and I think we all took it a little too much for granted.

But I digress.

My red hoodie.

Well, actually I bought 3 hoodies. And one cool other jacket/non-hoodie type thingy that is hard to describe, but I assure you that it is incredibly hip and stylish. I bought it at Urban Outfitters, so I'm sure you will see many other 20-something boys wearing exactly the same cool and hip jacket/non-hoodie type thingy around New York City. But I decided that, for me...this was to be the fall of the hoodie.

I set out with the intention to buy 1 and came home with 3.

The reasoning is quite simple:

1. It's cold.

1a. It is the perfect fall accoutrement.

2. I'm getting old.

I bought one in black. Standard. Basic. Goes with anything.

I bought one in blue. But it has various shades of blue and is an incredibly stylish cut. Armani, in fact!

And I bought one in red.

I am wearing the red one right now. It makes me feel like this:

And a little like this:

And...yes, even a little like this:

I saw that red hoodie and I thought..."If I buy it, he will come."

Yes, it is almost Halloween. The season of the Great Pumpkin, Michael Myers and E.T. And anyone who has seen E.T. as an adult will cry more than a dinosaur can pee...because really, we all have a little Elliot in us. And we all have to say goodbye to our little alien friends and grow up a little.

Cry here:

But this fall, I say: "Fuck that!" I am wearing my red hoodie and waiting for glorious things to happen.

thanks H&M.
