Third and Final Destination...
yes...
Final Destination...3!
and i can't believe it is December.
and it is cold.
and i am still posting about an august trip.
i am done with the blogging.
honestly, it bores me.
perhaps...perhaps...this WILL be the final destination...
and it was a good one...
except for the part where i killed a baby turtle.
here - this one is a little more innocent:
and this turtle actually lived.
i saved this one.
but there was another. and it died in a bucket. and my brother said it wasn't my fault...although...i insisted we finish watching a movie - and eating our Papa John's pizza, wings and cheesy bread before going out to release them on the beach...
when the movie was over; turtle was dead.
anyway.
i'm a turtle killer.
and so - yeah, this is what my brother was doing this summer.
patrolling the florida beaches at 6am to protect turtle nests and help the lost baby turtles get to water...
and this was my chance to join the mission...
well, at least for one morning...
the rest of the time i stayed in the home where my brother was staying.
it looked something like this...
okay. not really.
but that is someone's winter home. just for the winter.
it was empty.
because it was summer.
and it was someone's winter home.
winter home.
i feel poor.
anyway...the place we were staying weren't too shab...
and i spent three days going between sleeping on the beach...
then reading by the pool...
then going back to beach...
also, canines.
also, we took a boat out on the river...or lake...or body of water that comes from ocean and travels alongside beautiful homes...
and then i learned something about florida...
it can be beautiful, warm and sunny out...
you can be riding in a boat, the warm sun beating down, the cool air and water rushing by...
dolphins swimming alongside your boat...
(seriously, there were dolphins...
just not THAT dolphin.)
but then in a matter of moments, everything can turn to this...
and this...
and this...
it was almost as bad as this...
seriously. freezing cold. pelting rain and sleet. lighting right near us - hitting the water. i thought i was about to experience death.
but i did not.
and then it was sunny again.
very truman show.
anyway - one last stop on the way to the airport.
my brother's office
which also happens to be an aquarium and research center with live dolphins...
manatees...
turtles...
sea horses...
octopi...
and ellen degeneres...
also, sharks.
and because i decided NOT to ride the Tower of Terror at Disney MGM...
this is where fate caught up with me on my final destination...
i fell into the shark tank...
...and startled a shark...
...that swam into the glass...spilling me out onto the floor...just in time to land in a jeep that was heading through an asteroid field in an attempt to save a dinosaur...
and basically...
the look of awe, excitement and pure dino-fear captures the overall experience of my little summer excursion.
unfortunately, that guy behind us didn't make it.
